Event description
This course is aimed at apprentices and level 2 practitioners as well as those new or returning to the early years.

With four focussed sessions this collaborative four-part course will further practitioners’ knowledge, skills and confidence in supporting young children.

Part 1: A Unique Child – This session will explore and enhance your knowledge of child development as a sequence of physical, communication and emotional changes.

Part 2: Positive Relationships – This session will be an opportunity to reflect on attachment and the importance of key people in the child’s life. You will deepen your knowledge of how to promote positive behaviour through self-regulation and emotional literacy.

Part 3: Enabling Environments – Play underpins learning and all aspects of children’s development. The role that adults have is crucial. This session will delve deeper into how you can provide playful experiences including practical examples that support children’s characteristics of effective learning.

Part 4: Learning and Development – The final session will consolidate your learning through the importance of understanding and analysing your observations and assessments of children in order to tailor your planning.

This course will be an opportunity to network with other practitioners who are new to early years as well as mentorship and support. This course includes a support visit to your setting from one of the trainers which will be personalised to your learning experiences.
