Event description
This course is aimed at:
· Experienced leaders wishing to refresh their skills or with identified gaps in their learning.
· Those in middle management positions (such as deputies and room leaders).
· New leaders who wish to develop their skills.
· Childminders with assistants.
· Aspiring leaders.

This 4-part course will provide an opportunity to explore and discover a pedagogical approach within your setting. Through reflection on your setting vision, values and ethos we aim to refresh your outlook on the skills required to lead and nurture a team. We will consider:
- the fundamental differences between leading and managing
- getting the best from your team, and -
fostering confidence to lead an early years’ curriculum which includes and respects all children’s right to play and learn.

You will be invited and supported to lead improvement through a range of reflective tasks which will have a lasting impact on staff, children and families. A visit will be offered to all delegates to provide tailored support with embedding their knowledge into practice.

“Challenging people in the right way. Leading not managing, supporting them by giving them both a platform they can count on and expectations they can stretch for.” (Seth Goslin)

NO-SHOW POLICY
It is important to note that the majority of our early years courses are subject to a ‘no-show’ policy. Payments made for chargeable courses are non-refundable unless cancellation is received at least five working days prior to the start of the course. For centrally funded courses, if a delegate fails to attend, or fails to cancel at least five working days prior to the start of the course, the setting will be invoiced for a no-show charge – this charge will be £30 if the course is 3 hours or less, or £50 if the course is more than 3 hours.

By booking on to any course directly run by the Early Years Team there is an assumption that you accept the terms and conditions of the no-show policy.
