Event description
This event is a long way off, but as we only have 15 spaces and priority will be given to those who haven’t already attended this before I am sending it now to give everyone plenty of time to plan.
Location: 15 Portland Square, St Paul’s, Bristol, BS2 8SJ
Arrival: 9.00AM for prompt 9.30AM minibus departure.
Finish: 4.30Pm to 5.00PM
We want to help you and your organisation to better understand, and meet the needs of service users who come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. It is intended that this training will give you an insight into a sample of the Black and Minority Ethnic communities and Faith and Belief communities which make up our diverse city.
There will be an opportunity to visit places of religious significance and to ask questions to community representatives about what particular issues mean in those communities. The facilitators have been briefed in the areas that are of interest to you and they will give you a ‘grassroots’ perspective.
There will be opportunities to ask questions at each of the 5 sessions.
Please bear in mind there will be a dress code for visiting places of worship.
DRESS CODE
In terms of dress code, during the time at the Mosque: "modesty" is important and we therefore ask that you take on board the following:
Men:
Clothing should be worn which covers from the neck to the ankles, including long sleeves. Head covering is optional.
Women:
Clothing should be worn which covers from the neck to the ankles, including long sleeves. Head covering is preferable and we would advise that you bring one with you.
Trousers or long skirts are acceptable.
