Event description
These workshops are aimed at all professionals who come into contact with young people and families, including managers who have responsibility for supervision, policy and decision-making.
The aim is to build good practice across children and young people's services, both challenging and supporting front line practitioners to be clear about what good practice looks like. There will be a focus on examples of good practice and support to staff to self evaluate their own practice against these examples. The aim is for everyone to share and learn from the things that went well, not so well, and what people would do differently to improve things.

This Good Practice Workshop will focus on:
Engagement - What is this and how do we achieve it meaningfully in practice?

It will be led by Aimee Williams (Consultant Social Worker), Emma Bevan (Student Social Worker) and Frankie Spill (Care Leaver)
Learning outcomes
This will be an interactive event and the learning outcomes are:

1. To consider the idea of engagement by use of videos, case examples and feedback from service users themselves. Frankie Spill will be joining us to tell us about her own personal experiences of our services.

2. To look at some of the barriers to achieving engagement in practice.

3. To think about how we can attempt to overcome barriers and build meaningful relationships.
