Event description
This is a one day course for participants to develop the skills necessary to provide emergency first aid to someone who has an accident or suddenly becomes ill at work. Participants will be trained and assessed during the course in order to receive a certificate. Please note - you will be required to complete 3 practical assessments and a multiple choice test. You need to bring Photo ID eg passport, driving licence. If these are not available please bring your Work ID with photo If you require assistance with reading/writing please let the use know prior to the start of the course.
Learning outcomes
Assessment will cover the ability to demonstrate knowledge and competence in the following areas: - First Aid. - CPR or Cardio-Palmonary Resuscitation on an adult manikin. - CPR assessment will also include being assessed using (AED) Auto External Defibrillator. - Choking treatment for adults. - Performing a casualty assessment. - Placing a person in recovery position. - Control of bleeds and bandaging. - Management of shock.
