Event description
The Foundation Workshop is best suited for professionals wanting to learn and implement Makaton within their workplace. This workshop provides a detailed introduction to Makaton which has a balance of theory and practice.

During this course you will learn stage 1 – 4 plus additional signs and symbols and develop a deeper understanding of Makaton to include how research confirms the benefits of using Makaton for all.

You will receive a certificate of attendance and booklet which includes signs and symbols when you have attended all sessions.

Once completed you can attend Makaton networks for continuing professional development, sharing ideas, strategies, signs and symbols.

Please bring a packed lunch as no lunches will be provided.
Learning outcomes
To develop an understanding through a practical and theoretical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme.

To learn signs and symbols from stages 1 – 4 from the core vocabulary and the additional signs.

To discuss and develop ways in which to use Makaton within everyday situations within the workplace.
