Event description
This half-day training course is for practitioners who have already completed a certificated workshop.

This is an opportunity for practitioners who have previously completed a certificated Makaton workshop to share and extend their knowledge and skills to put in place and embed Makaton in their setting. Each practitioner will create a plan moving forward to support all children and staff (if appropriate) within their setting.

We will explore Makaton friendly criteria, what this could mean for you and how to develop this as a holistic communication approach encompassing parents, carers and the local community.

During this training we will have an opportunity to review and refresh some of the signs from the core vocabulary stages 1 – 4 during games and activities that could be used in the setting.
Learning outcomes
To develop a plan to use Makaton signs and symbols within the setting on a daily basis for all children.

To share activities, experiences, games, stories and skills to embed Makaton practice.

To review and refresh some Makaton signs from stages 1 – 4.
