This course is aimed at SENCOs and managers who have children in their setting with more complex needs.

Using case studies, this course will explore the processes which need to be followed when requesting an Education Health Care needs assessment (EHCna).

The course will inform SENCOs about how to collate the graduated response evidence and use it to provide reports which will support an EHC needs request. It will look at the responsibilities for the setting that has a child with an Education Health Care plan in place.
Learning outcomes
To understand the graduated response and how it is used to inform the decision making and request for an Education Health and Care needs assessment to be started.

To understand the processes of the EHC needs assessment and Education Health Care Plan responsibilities.

To have knowledge of gathering evidence and report writing to support an EHC needs request.
