Event description
This course is aimed at childminders who are interested in developing their knowledge of how to support children’s language development through the Letters and Sounds phonics programme.

This course is a fun and interactive way to learn about Phase 1 of the Letters and Sounds programme and define the importance of phonics to enhance your children’s emerging reading skills from birth.

You will learn through first-hand experiences ways to support children’s language and communication through the seven aspects of Letters and Sounds. Through each aspect we will discuss ways to further parental engagement and home learning.

We will discuss opportunities for supporting phonics and early reading when out and about as well as in your setting.

“Energetic games, songs and rhymes that provide repetition are the most likely ways to keep your pre-schooler involved and excited about learning to read.”
