This online workshop is designed to provide managers with the skills and confidence required to deal effectively with employee absence. This includes how to implement organisational policies, procedures and good practice guidelines, while maintaining a positive and productive working environment. All organisations have employment procedures in place to ensure that staff are treated fairly and in accordance with the law. As a manager you are expected to understand and follow these policies and procedures on behalf of the council.

Training is aimed at line managers and supervisors who are involved in the management of, sickness absence in their teams.

• Your role and responsibilities in managing sickness absence
• What legislation, policies and procedures may be relevant in managing sickness absence
• How and when to conduct return to work meetings
• Understand what a disability is and reasonable adjustments
